Flash / USB
Flash memory is a memory module, which can store data permanently even without a constant supply of electricity. If Flash memory is disconnected from the source of electricity, the memory contents are preserved. This is a great advantage over conventional (SD) RAM memory, as used in computers (if (SD) RAM is disconnected from the source of electricity, the memory is immediately erased).
USB mass memory devices communicate via the Universal Serial Bus (USB) and have an integrated data store or are used for removable data storage media. These not only include USB sticks, but also all other mass memory devices, such as external hard discs, floppy disc drives or digital cameras with integrated memory, which are connected to a computer via USB.
