MOD / UDO
The Magneto-Optical Disc (MOD) is a rotating storage medium, which is written to magnetically and read from optically. Magneto-optical storage media are your guarantee of the highest data security. The underlying laser technology makes them an absolutely secure, exceptionally fast, and the most efficient data storage medium.
Ultra Density Optical (UDO) are the next-generation magneto-optical media. The discs developed by Plasmon currently have a recording capacity of up to 60 GB. This is more than six times the maximum capacity of MO media (9.1 GB).
Also available is the Professional Disc for Data (PDD) from Sony, with a capacity of 23.3 or 50 GB (DL).
